You administer an Azure subscription with an existing cloud service named
contosocloudservice. Contosocloudservice contains a set of related virtual machines (VMs)
named ContosoDC, ContosoSQL and ContosoWeb1.
You want to provision a new VM within contosocloudservice.
You need to use the latest gallery image to create a new Windows Server 2012 R2 VM that
has a target IOPS of 500 for any provisioned disks.
Which PowerShell command should you use?

  • A Option A
  • B Option B
  • C Option C
  • D Option D

It's D: The New-AzureQuickVM cmdlet sets the configuration for a new virtual machine and creates the virtual machine. You can create a new Azure service for the virtual machine by specifying either the Location or AffinityGroup parameters, or deploy the new virtual machine into an existing service.

I would go for B. -ServiceName needs to be specified, so A is wrong. Putting IOPS on the side, out of the remaining 3 only B specifies $adminuser and $adminPassword , C and D have only $adminpassword.

Basic_A1 has 2 data disks with max of 300 IOPS i.e 600 IOPS is possible. Hence my option is "B"

B should not work!. D should be, "small" ones accept 500 IOps for each disk https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/sizes-general#basic-a Size – Size\Name CPU cores Memory NICs (Max) Max temporary disk size Max. data disks 1023 GB each) Max. IOPS (300 per disk) A0\Basic_A0 1 768 MB 2 20 GB 1 1x300 A1\Basic_A1 1 1.75 GB 2 40 GB 2 2x300

C does not ensure latest galery image

  • Jul 14, 2017, 07:30 PM

Adminusername is optional so D stands still

  • Jul 12, 2017, 06:40 AM

1. You need to first Select Latest Image ,Also It also does not specify Admin userName - removes option C 2. Between A & B , Last Step New-AzureVM Should have a Service name as we have to deploy in an Existing Service , So A is Out . 3. Option D , does not have Admin Username which leaves correct ans as B

i am agree too

  • May 25, 2017, 11:10 PM

Probably, D is the right answer. Not A because Cloudservice name is missing Not B because Basic_A1 give IOPS 300 per disk Not C because syntax is not correct syntax.

agree. correct answer should be D

  • May 20, 2017, 04:04 PM

it cannot be A since the cloudservice name is not specified in the PowerShell.

  • May 18, 2017, 06:35 PM

Correct is A: "target IOPS of 500 for any provisioned disks" so it cannot be basic ; https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/canitpro/2014/11/18/azure-disk-iops-and-virtual-machines-in-iaas/

  • May 7, 2017, 05:58 PM

why cannot be used new-AzureQuickVM ? option D for example.
