Which type of address translation should be used when a Cisco ASA is in transparent
mode?

  • A Static NAT
  • B Dynamic NAT
  • C Overload
  • D Dynamic PAT

I don''t understand why that answer is true. Transparent mode is a layer 2 feature. There would be no subnets between the interfaces.

When the ASA is in transparent mode there are no interface IP addresses and interface PAT is disabled. The ASA doesn’t do any dynamic routing so you would need to create network objects and static NAT rules to allow the traffic to go from one network to another if the subnets are different on either side of the ASA. Hope this helps!
